OKOBO COUNCIL BOSS REVEALS HIDDEN FACTS FOR GOV EMMANUEL'S 2ND TERM Henshaw NYONG - UYO. The Executive Chairman, Okobo Local Government Council, Rt Hon Ubuo Effiong Ubuo, is optimistic that the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, will clinch his second term victory given his gargantuan achievements less than three years in office. According to the Council boss, "re-electing Governor Emmanuel in 2019 would complete the tradition in the State where every Senatorial District produces governor for two terms of eight years each". BREAKING: FRESH HERDSMEN ATTACK LEAVES 25 DEAD IN KOGI

Persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have unleashed terror on three communities in Kogi State, leaving 25 people dead. Oganienugwu and Ikende communities in Dekina Local Government Area were affected; as well as Abejukolo in Omala LGA, all in the EasEastern Senatorial district of the state.As at the time of filing this report, villagers were reportedly moving out of Obakume, Idirisu, and Oji Apata to escape possible attacks. Our correspondent gathered that 25 people were killed in the sustained attack which started on Tuesday and continued till Thursday. A detachment of police and soldiers have been drafted to quell the violence. Eye witness account told our correspondent that the mode of killing employed by the hoodlums was to slaughter the victims after tying them up; while those who attempted to escape alleged received machete cuts. Rapper Olamide Adedeji popularly known as ‘Baddo,’ on Thursday, announced the launch of his Television Channel, `Voice Of The Streets’. The science student crooner who is set to launch the new station said it is ‘a birthday gift to myself’. Olamide dedicated the station to his family, especially his late mother who passed away recently, his son and his record label YBNL. MOTHER, CHILD BURNT TO ASHES IN CAR ACCIDENT IN BAYELSA

An unidentified woman and her child have been reportedly burnt beyond recognition in a car accident along Amassoma road, Bayelsa state. According to unconfirmed reports, the accident was caused following a suspected police chase. CULTISM: DEATH PENALTY FOR DEFAULTERS AS GOV' WIKE SIGNS 3 BILLS INTO LAW

     Rivers state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has signed three bills into law, the laws are: The Rivers State Secret Cult and Similar Activities (Prohibition) (Amendment) law No.6 of 2018, Rivers State Kidnapping (Prohibition) (Amendment No.2) law No.7 of 2018, And the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law No.8. Giving an overview of the law the majority leader of the House Hon Martin Amaehule explained that the laws are designed to provide stiffer penalty for people involved in kidnapping and cultism. Addressing the law makers, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike told them “what you have done today would go down in history that you have contributed to the security of the state”. He reiterated that the interest of Rivers State is paramount and there is need for stiffer penalty for cultists and kidnappers. The law prescribes life penalty for cultism and death penalty for any cultist convicted of murder. It also prescribes death penalty for kidnapping. The Governor advised
