EPHRAIM INYANG-EYEN APPLAUDS INDIGENOUS ROAD CONTRACTORS

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim
Inyang-eyen has lauded the indigenous contractors handling roads in
Akwa Ibom State for their effort in delivering quality roads construction and adhering to International best practices in the various road contracts awarded them.
Akparawa Ephraim Inyang-eyen yesterday, while briefing the Akwa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists about the progress of his ministry at the maiden edition of state's NUJ congress of the year held at the NUJ Press Centre, Information Drive, Uyo. Said 'aside from delivering quality jobs on time, the indigenous contractors are partnering with the state by ensuring the youths of the state are properly integrated in the various construction works awarded them thereby creating a sustainable value chain in the economy of the state and also reducing capital flight.'
Meanwhile, he debunked the insinuations peddled around that the State Government does not permit NDDC to execute project. He stated, the state government is insisting that project executed by the commission in Akwa Ibom State must meet up the standard of the international best practices.
Akparawa Ephraim Inyang thanked journalists for choosing him to be part of the Union through the Grand Patron Award, even as he promised to contribute tangible quota to the growth of the Union.
The Works Commissioner also commended journalists for their efforts and resilience in keeping the people of the state abreast of government programs. He tasked journalists to be more committed to factual and objective reporting and shun propaganda that do not add value to the growth and development of Akwa Ibom State.
The State Chairman of NUJ, Elder Patrick Albert responding, describe Akparawa Ephraim Inyang as a dynamic leader who has brought massive development to the state through the Ministry of Works, he appreciated him (Ephraim Inyang) for his ingenuity and prudent management/ supervision of road construction in the state while praying more of God’s blessings upon him and the State Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
Highpoint of the event include the donation of windows and doors by the grand patron, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang for the completion of the NUJ office complex while pledging his unflinching support to the Union to get it better.
The Union also celebrated with members who have their birthdays in January.
