FRESH ATTACK HITS KADUNA LEAVING FEW DEAD, SEVERAL OTHERS INJURED.
No fewer than six persons have been declared dead and several others injured in a fresh attack in Kaguru village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday night.
The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Mukhtar Aliyu, while confirming the incident, put the number of casualties at six.
Aliyu said that a resident of the area who gave the report disclosed ''the hoodlums invaded the community at the thick of the night when the residents had retired to bed after the day's activities and started shooting inconsiderately and burning down houses before the security operatives arrived the area.''
Birnin Gwari, located in the central senatorial zone of Kaduna state over time has become a hive for criminal activities, kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rustling, a situation that has become a major security challenge for residents and the state government.
However, Aliyu infomed newsmen that more troops have been deployed to the affected
region, while those that sustained injuries were admitted at the General Hospital, Birnin
Gwari for rapid medical attention.
