PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR, SIMON DISBAND COMMISSIONERS

The Plateau State Governor Barr. Simon Bako Lalong has disband the State Executive Council with effect from Thursday, February 8, 2018.

The decision which was contained in a press statement signed by the governor's Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr Emmanuel Nanle assured all the sacked commissioners that as stakeholders in the Plateau Project, their wealth of experience would continuously be relied upon 'in building the Plateau of our dream'

According to report, the decision was to inject fresh blood into his government that would pave way for his planned reelection in 2019.

However, the governor thanked the Commissioners and directed them to hand over to Permanent Secretaries in their respective Ministries.

The statement reads: 

“The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has dissolved the State Executive Cabinet with effect from the 8th of February 2018.

“The Governor expresses his sincere appreciation to the Honourable Commissioners for their selfless service and immense contributions in delivering to the people of Plateau State, the dividends of democracy and in engendering hope in the All Progress Congress-led administration in the State.

“The Executive Governor while wishing the Commissioners the best in their future endeavours assures them that as stakeholders in the Plateau Project, their wealth of experience would continuously be relied upon in building the Plateau of our dream. He, therefore, calls on them not to relent in availing their services when called upon in the future to serve the State. The Honourable Commissioners are to hand over to Permanent Secretaries in their respective Ministries

RT. HON SAM IKON GIVES BACK TO THE ETINAN PEOPLE

Hon Sam Ikon who is currently representing the Etinan Federal Constituency at the National Assembly has today flag-off a free medical and surgical outreach for the people of Etinan at the Primary Health Care Operational Base, Etinan. The free medical outreach include free surgeries, free eye checks and glasses, free counseling and free drugs administration at the General Hospital Mbioto 2 and all the wards in Etinan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. The outreach which begins today will run till 2nd of February 2018 for all Etinan Local Government indigenes while Nsit Ubium and Nsit Ibom local government areas will take their turn next two weeks respectively.
