POLICE MAN MURDERS TAXI DRIVER IN RIVERS STATE

Some youths on Sunday took to the street of Port Harcourt to protest the gruesome killing of a taxi driver by a mobile  police man at East West road.

Factsreporter learnt the police man who was accompanying a truck carrying frozen foods shot the taxi in the neck at close range and absconded the scene.

According to eyewitness report,

“The driver of the truck zoomed off when it became clear to him that the taxi driver had been killed by the policeman.

“The sound of the gunshot scared people and everybody ran away. The taxi driver, according to what I heard, was from Abia State.

“He was just killed for no just cause. He was not even the person blocking the road,”

Event took a twist when the police of the state command arrived the scene with heavy gunfire to dispatch the remains of the dead driver leading to pandemonium in the area. 

However, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, while confirming the incident said the suspected policeman was not officially operating in the state.

“The policeman does not serve in this state and efforts are on to identify and fish him out.

“We want members of the public to be calm; very soon, we will identify the policeman and deal with him according to the law.”
